Nothing says America more than Red White and Blue and in home fashion, Blue (true blue as I would call it) is definitely back. From our recent trip to High Point Showtime, we saw everything from rich navys, teals and aquas, but the predominant blue was just a nice medium shade – almost royal but not quite as brash.
To get ready for our country’s birthday we changed a few things to get into the spirit. One of my favorite “changes” is switching out the plates and accessories on my hutch at home.
At the store I brought out of storage one of our original Kerrie Sofa covers from 1999. It’s in great shape and goes with so many of the blue fabrics we are getting in.
Sarah Richardson (of Sarah’s house) introduced her fabric collection with Portfolio Fabrics. Her blue color way is so fresh.
We also love HGTV’s chevron stripe in the new fresh blues of 2013. Even the Iman Home Collection has plenty of Patriotic punch – best depicted in Samoan Plantation Gem and Mythical Garden.
I think we’ll be singin’ the Blues for a while in home fashions – I sure hope so because I really missed them.
